The annual event, one of Warwickshire’s biggest fetes, has
been attracting the crowds and raising many thousands of pounds
for local and national charities for over 20 years.
This year’s
fete kicks off at 2pm on Saturday 7th August 2010 and will feature
a host of traditional country pursuits, from ferret racing to
fly-fishing, gundog and show-jumping displays, to a chance to ride
the famous Dassett Mare, our wooden jousting horse.
This year
brings a modern twist, with street dance and ballet demonstrations
to light up the main ring, together with the return of the dog
show.
There will be a multitude of craft and gift stalls
pitching their wares, a classic car display, and children will be
thrilled by face painting, the Great Baloni’s magical extravaganza
and, for the 6 & unders, their very own Tea Party from 5.45pm to
7pm.
This year’s charity Raffle is the cherry on the icing on
the (locally
produced) cake; there are prizes galore but the
Star Prize is
something extra special:

To keep
everyone going, there’s a fully licensed late bar, a tea & cake
tent and local culinary delicacies sizzling away throughout the
day.
From 8.30pm, the main stage welcomes local band The
Duckworths and a
DJ to dance the night away into the early
hours.
Tickets for the evening are £6 at the door.

Spa Speakers is a local branch of Toastmasters. We are a likeable bunch of
local people of all ages and walks of life. We help people gain confidence
in public speaking and presentations, improve vocabulary and dialogue plus

All people who are bored on Sunday mornings will want to know that the
Outdoor Car Boots at Warwick Girls Marching Band are back! Every Sunday
the gates are open at 8.00am. There's room on the tarmac parade ground for
all the sellers to set up their stalls - no mud or grass to worry about.
Buyers have free entry and will also find ample parking and easy access
for all, even pushchairs/wheelchairs. There are indoor toilets, and
refreshments will be on sale until 11.00am. The sale ends then to allow
the Girls to practise, giving you time to sort out Sunday lunch. Pitches
need no booking and cost £6 on the morning. (Large vehicles may take 2
pitches.) The Sale is not troubled by bad weather due to the hard
standing; the gates will be open as long as booters turn up. Go along to
the WCoD headquarters, Westend Centre, Hampton Road, CV34 6JP - go past
the Warwick Racecourse grandstands and Racing Club Warwick FC and turn
right into the band opposite Shakespeare Avenue (stables entrance).
